RAV EP8: Chicago Farmer and Wavy Dave Burlingame
Wednesday Apr 11, 2018
Wednesday Apr 11, 2018
For episode eight we are heading to Illinois! Not really...plane tickets are expensive and there is probably still snow on the ground so screw that. I chat with two of my absolute favorite Illinosians....Cody Diekoff (AKA the wryly inspired Chicago Farmer) and Wavy Dave Burlinghame from Cornmeal and like twenty other bands. Chicago Farmer is one of my all time favorite festival discoveries and Wavy Dave and his Cornmeal buddies were amazingly helpful to me when I was starting out in the photo/media whoring business. We chat about aliens and music and more. Dig it!

(Music fest mayors are a truly special breed!) Then we have the Site OPPS director for the venerable Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park, Sonny Perez, to talk about how he makes sure the nation's best festival venue runs so smoothly. Finally we talk to Suwannee's live in festival promoter and all around music guru Paul Levine about his history and how he puts together line ups and festival schedules. Let's shine some light on these guys who work so very hard to make all these musical adventures possible!

Veteran music photographer, videographer and writer Rex Thomson sees the world through a camera lens and also the prism of insane experience. As a member of the much heralded Live For Live Music website staff he travels the country covering fests and concerts. When he finally makes it home he finds himself living inside America's premiere outdoor music venue, The Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park, where he serves as house photo/video guy. Having survived a ridiculous amount of near fatal illnesses and accidents he has gained a wisdom and positive perspective that informs everything he does. On his podcast, Rex-A-Vision, he works to show the world and the wonderful people in it through his eyes. The fact that he does this by playing an imaginary quiz game show is just part of the reason he has found himself with countless friends from coast to coast. Join him as he peels back the curtain on the music scene and the wonderful people onstage, backstage and in the crowd to share the amazing people who make the magic happen!
